Sustainable Land Management Practice in Kajiado and Narok Counties

Summary

Kajiado and Narok Counties in Kenya face significant land degradation due to population growth, climate change, and various land uses including pastoralism, agriculture, and commercial ventures like mining. The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) is addressing this through community-led sustainable land management practices, such as invasive species control, briquette making, tree nursery establishment, soil erosion prevention, and reforestation, supported by the GEF 7 project.
