UDERMS Final Technical Report
Summary
This project addressed the challenge of effectively integrating diverse distributed energy resources (DERs) from various building types into the utility grid to optimize grid services and improve energy efficiency. The approach involved implementing a utility-managed "behind-the-meter" DER control program connecting a range of buildings to deliver grid services. Although the project was terminated prior to full field deployment, significant foundational design, modeling, and integration work was completed, including defining control architectures and demonstrating over 30% energy savings through EE modeling for six facilities.
