Evaluation of the Centre for Earth Observation Instrumentation (CEOI) Final Report

Summary

The UK established the Centre for Earth Observation Instrumentation (CEOI) to enhance its capabilities in low-Technology Readiness Level (TRL) Earth Observation (EO) instrumentation and fill a critical funding gap in this high-risk sector. The program funds innovative projects and fosters collaboration between government, academia, and industry to develop new EO technologies and secure international contracts. Currently, the program is in progress, having already advanced TRLs by an average of 2.2 points and facilitated technologies on four successful satellite launches, with significant economic benefits starting to be realized.
