Summary

Kenya Electricity Transmission Company (KETRACO) is actively working to enhance and expand the national electricity grid, addressing challenges of unstable supply and growing energy demand. Through various infrastructure projects, KETRACO has completed several key initiatives in 2024, including the energization of the Kimuka Substation and the 510km Kenya-Tanzania Interconnector, and the restoration of power to Lamu. These efforts are currently in progress to improve power reliability, foster regional energy integration, and integrate more renewable energy sources into the grid.
