Kenya faces a critical and growing challenge with e-waste, generating an estimated 51,300 tons annually, which often leads to unsustainable accumulation and severe environmental pollution from open burning. The African Environmental Health and Pollution Management Project, a five-year initiative, aims to address this by strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing policy and regulations, and piloting integrated e-waste management solutions. The project is currently in progress, focusing on reducing harmful releases and improving collection, transportation, and recycling infrastructure.
