Summary

Evaluating the optimal deployment of Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) for cost savings and resilience is a complex challenge due to numerous influencing factors. The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) has developed REopt, an energy planning platform that utilizes techno-economic optimization to provide integrated, cost-optimal energy solutions for sites. This tool is currently available for use through a web interface, API, and Julia package, supporting ongoing analysis and deployment efforts across the United States.
