Summary

Oita Prefecture is experiencing a decline in marriages, driven in part by the outflow of young women to other prefectures. To address this, the prefecture needs to create attractive job opportunities and a desirable living environment to encourage young women to stay and build their lives locally. Currently over 1,400 more women in their 20s are moving out of the prefecture than are moving in.
