WOMEN TRANSFORMING INDIA 2021

Summary

India faces a significant challenge with societal and systemic barriers hindering women's entrepreneurship and economic participation. To counteract this, NITI Aayog launched the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) in 2018, a public-private initiative providing mentorship, skills training, and networking opportunities. The platform also hosts the Women Transforming India (WTI) Awards, which, in its fifth edition, recognized 75 accomplished women entrepreneurs, celebrating their contributions as India marked its 75th year of independence. This initiative is in progress, aiming to inspire and empower more women to pursue entrepreneurship.
