High-Power Electric Vehicle Charging Hub Integration Platform (eCHIP)

Summary

The growing demand for high-power electric vehicle charging presents a significant challenge to achieve refueling experiences comparable to conventional vehicles and reduce range anxiety. The eCHIP project addresses this by proposing DC bus architectures for charging hubs, integrating a site energy management system (SEMS) to efficiently coordinate EV supply equipment and distributed energy resources. Currently, two testbeds are under development by national laboratories, with this report serving as a roadmap for future demonstrations.
