Reimagining Healthcare in India through Blended Finance

Summary

India's healthcare system faced significant strain during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting a critical funding gap for rapid reform and innovative solutions. To address this, the government, in partnership with USAID, is adopting a blended finance model, which combines development and philanthropic funds with private capital. This initiative, SAMRIDH, is currently in progress and has already supported the scaling of 19 novel innovations, improving healthcare access and infrastructure for vulnerable populations across India.
