Local and Regional Governments globally face challenges in effectively implementing Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP) for climate and energy projects, especially in making renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives bankable. ICLEI is addressing this by developing a global knowledge product and a capacity-building training module on SPP tailored for such projects. This initiative, which is currently in the planning stage, aims to provide practical guidance and showcase best practices to support a sustainable energy transition worldwide.
