Kenya faces uncertainty in its clean cooking sector due to a lack of regulation and conflicting views on market intervention, which hinders achieving universal access to clean cooking and green growth. This report presents a needs assessment, conducted as part of the 'Promotion of Climate-Friendly Cooking' project, that reviews the existing regulatory framework and proposes a roadmap of tiered recommendations for gradual adoption of regulatory instruments. The assessment is completed, and its findings will inform the Kenya National Clean Cooking Strategy, with recommendations slated for implementation from 2023-2027.
