Eckpunkte einer sozialen Umwelt- und Klimapolitik

Summary

Environmental and climate policies often disproportionately affect socially disadvantaged groups and can create new financial burdens, despite aiming to mitigate environmental harms which also disproportionately affect these groups. This study develops key principles for a 'social environmental policy' in Germany, presenting practical approaches for policy integration, concrete governance methods, and exemplary instruments to ensure that ambitious climate action is socially just and enables all citizens to meet basic needs environmentally friendly. The project concluded with this final report in June 2025, outlining a comprehensive framework for future policy development.
