Summary

Local government officials in Kenya lack sufficient expertise in energy efficiency and management, hindering their ability to transition to renewable energy. To address this, ICLEI Africa is commissioning a service provider to conduct capacity-building workshops on energy efficiency for 15-25 officials from Kisumu, Mombasa, and Nakuru counties. The initiative is currently in the procurement phase, with proposals due by late September 2023, and aims to equip trainees with the skills to develop, finance, and implement energy-efficient strategies towards a 100% renewable energy goal by 2050.
