Summary

Many African countries struggle to secure sufficient climate finance, and global plastic pollution requires urgent action. In response, Kenya's NEMA is actively supporting other African nations like Mozambique and Botswana in their Adaptation Fund accreditation process to unlock crucial climate resources through South-South Cooperation. Additionally, NEMA hosted UNEA 5.2 in Nairobi, where 175 countries agreed to forge a legally binding instrument to end plastic pollution by 2024, building on Kenya's successful 93% ban on single-use plastics.
