Summary

Australia's Pilbara Solar Innovation Hub aims to accelerate utility-scale solar innovation and reduce the Levelised Cost of Energy in remote, challenging environments. Fortescue, with ARENA's support, is using a 500 MW innovation allocation within its solar program to test and de-risk new technologies, including automation in construction. The initiative is currently in progress, with one trial successfully completed and two others underway, providing valuable real-world data and operational learnings.
