HydroForecast Long-term: Improving hydropower’s resilience to climate change through accurate climate-scale

Summary

Hydropower operators and water utilities struggle with long-term water supply planning due to climate change and reliance on outdated hydrological models. This project developed and validated HydroForecast Long-term, an AI-powered neural network model integrating advanced climate projections to provide reliable, decadal-scale water supply forecasts. As a completed Phase I project, it successfully delivered a prototype, improving resilience for clean energy and water systems.
