Summary

Kenya's land tenure reforms are leading to the subdivision of group ranches, posing a significant challenge to wildlife conservation and traditional pastoralism in areas like the Mbirikani Group Ranch. In response, the Mbirikani Group Ranch has developed a Land-use and Subdivision Plan (LSP) to facilitate individual land titling while establishing specific zones for settlement, pastoralism and wildlife, conservation and tourism, cultivation, and infrastructure to ensure sustainable development. This plan, which was approved and has a lifespan from 2020 to 2025, is currently in progress of implementation.
