4つの柱で構成される経済安全保障推進法案 -経済活動への過度な介入回避と規制の実効性確保は両立可能か-

Summary

Amid escalating geopolitical risks and US-China competition, Japan is addressing new security threats like technology outflow, cyberattacks, and supply chain vulnerabilities for critical goods. To counter these, the government has drafted and submitted the Economic Security Promotion Bill, built on four pillars: ensuring stable supply of critical goods, securing stable provision of critical infrastructure services, supporting the development of critical technologies, and non-disclosure of sensitive patent applications. This bill is currently in progress through the Diet, aiming to establish a comprehensive framework for national economic security.
