Gearing up to Solve Food Security Challenges: Building agritech ecosystem for the global south

Summary

Many smallholder farmers in the global south face significant challenges, including lack of access to quality inputs and markets, high post-harvest losses, and climate change impacts. To address this, India's Atal Innovation Mission (NITI Aayog) and UNCDF are fostering an agritech ecosystem by promoting cross-border collaboration among start-ups from India, Asia, and Africa. The initiative has selected 25 agritech start-ups and engaged with six partner countries, with collaborations currently in various stages of development.
