Summary

The UK Department for Transport commissioned a study to explore the potential of operational efficiency measures in aviation to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The research identified the maximum technical limits of various on-ground and in-flight measures, categorised into Air Traffic Management, APU shutdown, Drag Reduction, Taxiing, and Mass Reduction.
