UNIFI Specifications for Grid-forming Inverter-based Resources Version 3

Summary

The increasing integration of inverter-based resources (IBRs) into the electric grid poses challenges to grid stability and reliability, especially with the retirement of traditional synchronous generators. To address this, the UNIFI Consortium is developing detailed specifications for grid-forming (GFM) inverters, aiming to standardize their performance requirements under various grid conditions. This Version 3 document represents an ongoing effort to define how GFM IBRs can autonomously support the grid and ensure interoperability.
