Lessons Learnt Report #1: Accelerating EV Adoption by Unlocking Charging for Strata Residents

Many residents in multi-unit dwellings (strata buildings) in Australia face significant hurdles to owning electric vehicles (EVs) due to the complexity and cost of installing charging infrastructure in shared parking spaces. NOX Energy is addressing this by deploying nearly 2,000 Level 1 Intelligent Power Sockets (IPS) in at least 16 strata buildings, allowing residents to charge their EVs at home using their retail energy tariff. The project is currently ahead of schedule, with demand for the solution exceeding initial forecasts, indicating a strong market need and a willingness among non-EV owners to invest in future-proofing their properties.
