Summary

Australia is working to efficiently integrate distributed energy resources (DER) like rooftop solar and EVs into its electricity markets and networks. The Distributed Energy Integration Program (DEIP) conducted major trials to test end-to-end DER integration, identify new actor roles, and recommend capabilities and regulatory changes. Several trials have concluded, with one scaling up, contributing findings that will inform ongoing policy and market reforms.
