Summary

Brazil aims to address global decarbonization and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by developing Renewable Liquid Gas (GLR), or BioGL. This low-carbon synthetic fuel, chemically identical to fossil LPG, is produced from various biomass sources via different technological routes and can replace conventional fossil fuels. Production is currently incipient but is expected to grow, with pilot projects underway and the first commercial batch anticipated for 2025.
