Summary

Ivory Coast faces significant environmental challenges including coastal degradation, biodiversity loss, and increased drought, exacerbated by conventional economic development models. To address this, the country has updated its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to strengthen climate change mitigation and adaptation, accelerating reforms in forestry, land use, and energy sectors. This initiative is in progress, with revised targets for 2021-2030 aiming for a 30.41% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and a 45% share of renewable energy in its mix.
