PUBLIC NOTICE TO ALL PRODUCERS

Summary

Kenya's Sustainable Waste Management Act, effective July 2022, mandates producers to take responsibility for the environmental impact of their products. The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) is now enforcing this and requires all producers to submit detailed Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) plans. NEMA has commenced inspections, and producers must submit their plans within two months of the August 30, 2023 notice.
