Summary

Costa Rica faces the challenge of increasing its renewable energy capacity to meet future demand, particularly through solar and wind power. The Ministry of Environment and Energy has approved a public service concession for the Palestina Solar Project, developed by Coopeguanacaste R.L., which will add 8.79 MWp to the national grid. The project is expected to begin operations in the first quarter of 2027 and contributes to the national goal of installing 540 MW of solar capacity by 2030.
