TERMS OF REFERENCE Development of a global knowledge product on sustainable public procurement for climate and energy projects

Summary

Local and Regional Governments (LRGs) globally face the challenge of effectively implementing Sustainable Public Procurement (SPP) for climate and energy projects, especially in financing and developing renewable energy and energy efficiency initiatives. ICLEI is addressing this by commissioning the development of a global knowledge product and a capacity-building training module on SPP. This initiative is currently in the planning phase, with a consultant sought to create these resources to guide LRGs in integrating sustainability into their procurement processes.
