Brazil's coral reefs, vital for marine biodiversity and coastal communities, face severe threats from climate change, pollution, and overfishing, with 80% of global reefs already impacted by bleaching. To address this, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has launched the National Strategy for the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Coral Reefs (ProCoral) via a decree on June 3, 2025.
