Summary

Despite having one of the world's cleanest energy matrices, Brazil faces the challenge of decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors like industry and transport, necessitating a structured market for low-carbon hydrogen. Brazil is addressing this through the National Hydrogen Program (PNH2) and its Triennial Work Plan for 2023-2025, which aims to develop policies and guidelines to boost the production and use of low-carbon hydrogen. This initiative is currently in progress, with a goal to make Brazil the largest and most competitive low-carbon hydrogen producer in Latin America by 2035.
