Summary

This document addresses the critical challenge of ensuring tamper-proof and continuous monitoring of nuclear materials in Advanced/Small Modular Reactors (A/SMRs), particularly as these reactors become more autonomous and remotely operated. The proposed approach involves the test and evaluation of Radiofrequency Tamper Indicating Devices (RFTIDs) and their associated remote monitoring systems, assessing their performance in various environmental conditions. The project is in progress, with initial tests showing promising results for the RFTIDs' ability to maintain tamper indication and connectivity under challenging conditions, though further development is recommended.
