Communities in Maryland face challenges in enhancing public safety and improving preparedness and recovery during hazardous events and extended power outages. The Resilient Communities, Maryland (RCM) project developed a community-driven energy resilience framework, utilizing Community-Based Participatory Research (CBPR) to integrate community perspectives into energy resilience planning. The project has successfully created a repeatable framework for evaluating and modeling energy resilience metrics, promoting equitable community engagement in decision-making for resilient power infrastructure, including microgrids.
