Summary

Belarus is committed to contributing to global efforts to limit the increase in global average temperature to well below 2.0 degrees Celsius and pursuing efforts to limit it to 1.5 degrees Celsius by reducing its greenhouse gas emissions. The country has set an unconditional target to reduce emissions by at least 35% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels (including LULUCF), and a conditional target of at least 40% reduction with international financial support. These targets are being implemented through various national programs and policies covering the period from 2021 to 2030.
