Con 'perspectiva de género': La inédita guía del Servicio de Evaluación Ambiental para proyectos de inversión

Summary

The Chilean Environmental Assessment Service (SEA) identified a challenge in adequately addressing gender inequalities and discrimination within environmental impact assessments for investment projects. To tackle this, SEA published an unprecedented guide on January 17, 2025, that incorporates a gender perspective for evaluating impacts on human groups' ways of life and customs. This initiative, the first of its kind since SEA's creation in 2010, aims to ensure equal access to rights and nondiscrimination, aligning with objectives of the Escazú Agreement, and is now completed.
