Digitalisierung und Ressourcen (DigitalRessourcen II)

Summary

The German Environment Agency (UBA) launched the "Digitalization and Resources (DigitalRessourcen)" research project to better understand the impacts of digitalization on natural resources and climate change. Phase I, completed in 2023, analyzed resource intensity and greenhouse gas emissions of digital transformation through case studies and macroeconomic modeling. Phase II, running from 2025 to 2027, will deepen these analyses with additional case studies and strengthen stakeholder involvement to identify actionable recommendations for sustainable digital development.
