Summary

Germany faces the challenge of quantifying Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) emissions from the internal cleaning of various transportation vehicles and storage tanks. This project undertakes a comprehensive analysis, identifying emission factors and activity rates for tank containers, ships, pipelines, railway cars, road vehicles, and storage tanks, and conducting stakeholder interviews. The study culminates in the creation of VOC emission time series from 1990 to 2021 and an assessment of uncertainties, providing a completed baseline analysis of this environmental issue.
