SCORE (Synthesis of COnsists as Rolling Energy microgrids) - Final Technical Report

Summary

The US Department of Energy identified a need for open-source tools to model energy trade studies for advanced rail transportation technologies, as existing proprietary solutions hindered evaluation of efficacy and environmental impact. In response, the SCORE toolset, an open-source, web-based application, was developed to simulate hybrid locomotive performance across various configurations and routes, aiming to minimize energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. This final technical report details the completed development of the toolset, which is now publicly available for researchers, government, and industry users.
