Summary

Cities face challenges in accurately measuring greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at a granular level, which is essential for effective climate action planning. This workshop brought together experts to discuss cutting-edge approaches, including using satellite data, inverse modeling, deep learning, and dedicated observation networks like ICOS Cities, to improve city-scale GHG inventories. Various projects are currently in progress to develop these advanced measurement and decision support tools for urban areas.
