Cost Effective Electrochromic Glazing Repositioning For Insulating Glass & Secondary Windows

Summary

This project addressed the challenge of increasing the availability and reducing the cost of ElectroChromic (EC) dynamic architectural glass. The approach involved repositioning the EC device layer within insulating glass units to create triple glazing or framing it as a dynamic secondary window for retrofits. The research phase is completed, with successful verification of temperature control, enhanced insulation, reduced unit weight and thickness, and demonstrated feasibility for cost reduction and retrofit applications.
