Summary

This document describes the first phase of developing scalable analysis methods for large-scale hybrid dc-ac grids, focusing on Multi-Terminal DC (MTDC) systems. The core challenge is effectively evaluating the capacity expansion, production costs, and stability of these complex grids. The approach involves integrating various simulation models, including capacity expansion, production cost, positive sequence, EMT, and EMT-TS co-simulation. The project is currently in progress, having demonstrated simulation results for fault analysis and developed use cases to quantify MTDC system benefits.
