Summary

Indonesia aims to boost domestic natural gas utilization, ensure equitable energy access and pricing nationwide, and promote downstream processing of mineral and coal resources, while also increasing renewable energy in its energy mix. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is implementing strategic programs, including gas pipeline development, a One-Price Fuel Program for fuel distribution, new electricity connection assistance, mandatory Biodiesel blending, and mineral/coal downstreaming policies. These comprehensive efforts are in progress, with notable achievements such as a 99.81% national electrification ratio and 66.46% domestic natural gas utilization by mid-2024.
