Kenya faces a challenge as the dissolution of group ranches into private land tenure due to recent constitutional changes threatens traditional communal pastoralism and wildlife conservation by fragmenting rangelands and introducing incompatible land uses. In response, the Eselenkei Group Ranch has developed a Landuse and Subdivision Plan (LSP) to manage the transition to individual land ownership, aiming to balance members' desire for title deeds with the need for sustainable natural resource conservation through strategic land zoning. This document is a draft Strategic Environmental Assessment report for the approved LSP, indicating the assessment process is currently in progress.
