The European Union's Renewable Energy Directive (RED II) 2018/2001 mandates member states to establish Guarantee of Origin (GO) systems for renewable and low-carbon gases, as well as heating and cooling. This project, commissioned by the German Environment Agency, aimed to provide the legal, procedural, and technical foundations for implementing these new GO registries in Germany, with a focus on resilience to future regulatory changes. The project has been completed, delivering comprehensive service specifications for these new registry systems.
