Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-05-09

1. Service description

PolicyLens (the "Service") provides access to a database of climate, energy, and sustainability policy documents published by governments and intergovernmental bodies, together with structured summaries and an AI-powered chat assistant. The Service is provided by NamiFlow.

2. Intended use and scope limits

The Service is intended for strategic, regulatory, and policy-level research. It is designed for policy researchers, sustainability consultants, climate journalists, multilateral analysts, and corporate ESG professionals who need primary government policy citations.

The Service is not designed or suitable for:

See /coverage for a current scope statement and the layers we deliberately do not index.

3. AI-generated answers

The chat assistant uses a large language model (LLM) to synthesise answers from indexed policy documents. While we apply strong anti-hallucination measures (primary-source-only retrieval, citation enforcement, country attribution discipline), AI synthesis is not error-free. Specifically:

4. Data freshness

Policy documents are re-ingested from primary sources on a roughly monthly cycle. Recently issued laws, decrees, or notifications may not appear immediately. The database does not contain real-time market data, live tariffs, or auction-cycle outputs. Users should consult primary sources directly for any time-sensitive decision.

5. Access keys and refunds

Access is provided via a one-time annual payment. The access key is valid for one year from the date of purchase. There is no subscription and no auto-renewal.

Because the Service is delivered as digital content (immediate access upon purchase), refunds are not available after purchase. Before paying, please verify that the Service covers your country and topic at /coverage and that the intended use is consistent with Section 2 above.

6. Intellectual property

Source documents indexed by the Service are public-domain government publications and remain the property of their respective issuing bodies. Structured summaries, key facts, and AI-generated answers produced by the Service may be quoted with attribution to PolicyLens and the underlying source. Bulk redistribution or resale of the database is not permitted.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NamiFlow disclaims all warranties, express or implied. NamiFlow shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Service, including but not limited to losses arising from reliance on AI-generated answers, missing documents, or out-of-date information.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts having jurisdiction over the registered address of NamiFlow.
